Russia's major attack on ukrainian gas plant: Russia launched a massive attack on the natural gas plants of Ukraine's state-owned gas company, Naftogaz Group, on Thursday night. According to Ukrainian Air Force officials, Russia attacked 381 drones and 35 missiles. These attacks are considered to be an attempt to destroy Ukraine's power and energy supply before winter.

Civil facilities were targeted

Naftogaz CEO Serhiy Koretskyi  said that this is a deliberate terrorist attack. He said that these attacks had no military objectives and its aim was only to create disruption in the lives of the people of Ukraine. The attack stalled the supply of electricity and gas in thousands of houses in many cities of Ukraine.

Severe damage to some facilities

Koretskyi stated that Russia targeted Naftogaz's gas extraction and processing plants in northeastern Kharkiv and central Poltava with 35 missiles and 60 drones. Many of these missiles were ballistic missiles. The attacks caused serious damage to some facilities. An eight-year-old child and two women were also injured in the attacks in Poltava. One attack shattered more than half the windows of the city's historic St. Nicholas Church.

Ukraine retaliates

Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council official Andriy Kovalenko said that Ukraine retaliated on Russia with a long-distance drone domestically made. Under this, the Orsk oil refinery was targeted about 1,400 km away.

Russia's response

Ukraine's drone attack was interrupted for some time at the Inserte chemical plant of Berejniki, 1,500 km from Moscow. Russia's Foreign Ministry said its air defense systems killed at least 20 Ukrainian drone aircraft, mostly above the Black Sea.
